Figma couldn't handle live data or logic, and ad-hoc HTML meant a tooling tax and design drift. I built an AI-native sandbox where designers describe a flow in plain English and get a production-faithful, shareable prototype — no build tools required.

Squarespace's design system was build for web and did not support native app development, so mobile engineers translated every spec to the best of their abilities and inevitably drifted from the original design. As a result, I architected Basalt — a native design system with AI wired into both code audits and documentation, adopted with zero breaking refactors.

Service sellers built sites on Squarespace but got paid everywhere else. In an effort to bettersupport these merchants, we designed a suite of tools including invoicing, contracting solutions, and project management. I led invoicing from a constrained MVP to a platform-grade tool, then adapted it for mobile — making it the leading selling tool for the company.

Bringing Squarespace's AI assistant to mobile wasn't "add chat" — it was deciding where AI lives, what stays conversational, and how it earns trust. I designed the entry points, trust model, and handoffs, and owned feature prioritization guiding what ships next.

Legacy IA treated the app as a site editor, but research proved sellers run operations from their phones. I led the discovery work, then a two-phase IA overhaul that reorganized the app around selling — with zero disruption to core workflows.

When tasked to design a solution for sending payment links on mobile, I focused on creating consistent patterns across mobile editors so that merchants using other payment solutions like invoicing could easily adopt this new feature. Post launch, we address merchant confusion between pay links and invoices by designing intent-driven entry points and in-flow education, allowing merchants to confidently collect payments.
